The ideal candidate will provide analysis and insight to senior stakeholders supported with an in depth operational understanding of realities of retail to allow high level commercial and financial decisions to be made

This role is accountable to ensure that the Workforce Management team are supporting the store managers and field teams. Specifically in ensuring that colleague deployment in store is ever improving, costs are well controlled and colleagues are paid correctly first time..

You will also lead and develop a team of analysts and developers to ensure the right skills sets exist in the team to provide a consistently excellent service to both stores and senior leaders in the business.

You will:

  • Create and agree the long term strategy for Workforce Management with senior stakeholders. Ensure that progress reviews are planned in and delivered.
  • Deliver the agreed strategy, on time, to budget ensuring that all change is engaging for the end users.
  • Manage overall demand and workload within the team, ensuring appropriate resource targets and SLAs. Review productivity and deliver on opportunities to improve efficiency of the team.
  • Build and maintain high levels of appropriate stakeholder engagement across the business to achieve high levels of satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the function is supporting the store managers and field teams in improving their colleague deployment in store, costs are well controlled and colleagues are paid correctly first time.
  • Define, deliver and maintain robust mathematical models to deliver a ‘bottom up’ payroll budgets..
  • Have day to day responsibility for the Workforce Management systems and tools, ensuring planned works are managed in a sensible window, in a timely fashion and have been successfully tested prior to deployment into a live environment..
  • Create and analyse large data sets.
  • Create and maintain processes, tools, intranets, training and data insight/reporting.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and best practice knowledge on all Workforce Management data, systems and processes to all other business operations and commercial functions.
  • Provide support and recommendations to the Retail Directors and Business Operations teams to continuously improve the value and impact of the Workforce Management function.
  • Provide support and cover for the Head of Workforce Management.

You will need:

  • In store retail experience within Dixons Carphone or other major retailer (essential)
  • Experience with large complex data sets (essential)
  • Experience with BI and MI systems and tools (essential)
  • Experience in building and reviewing business cases and cost/benefit analysis (essential)
  • Experience in similar role with another retailer (highly desirable)
  • Experience in continuous process improvement within a retail environment and realisation of benefits (desirable)
  • Evidence of delivering simple solutions to end users with all complexity done behind the scenes (desireable)
