Senior Property Procurement & Cost Manager

As the Senior Property Procurement & Cost Manager you’ll provide overall leadership for Property Procurement & Cost Management team. For Procurement you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with GNFR to secure the right partners on the right terms, purchasing initiatives, consultant frameworks, contracts and supplier capability. For Cost Management you’ll oversee all cost management services, controls, governance, value engineering and cost reporting.


Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee annual Property Procurement expenditure of c.£40m, and all associated cost management of this spend
  • Overall management of Property supply chain, supplier capability performance & pre-qualification of new suppliers
  • Support development of new & evolution of existing shop fitting designs & specifications
  • Support all teams, particularly Design Services & Format Development teams, with ensuring the right suppliers are engaged to meet their requirements
  • Manage all supplier relationships to ensure a good balance is struck between our programme requirements, H&S conformity, best value and availability of equipment and/or services
  • Issue detailed outputs and for tender results, model costs, schedules of rates, cost saving initiatives, supplier stock holding & forecasts
  • Oversee all cost management services, Service Level Agreements for third party cost management practices, cost tracking actuals & forecast expenditure against budgets & approvals  Provide all cost controls & governance for Property, including overseeing the internal capital approval process on behalf of Property Development
  • Regularly conduct and share our cost performance against market & industry benchmarking data.


Key skills & experience required:

  • Extensive post-qualification experience in a similar / comparable / complementary role
  • Demonstrable leadership experience working within similar commercial / procurement / cost management roles within a fast-paced, multi-site retail operation
  • Skilled with managing procurement / direct supply chain relationships and overseeing market tenders & supplier negotiations
  • Working with retail construction & fit out
  • Experience of Framework agreements, supplier contract management, contract law, Terms & Conditions for Purchase Ordering and JCT building contracts
  • Cost Management and/or Quantity Surveying within the retail and/or retail construction industry.
  • Ability to analyse large volumes of data to form sound conclusions, make appropriate recommendations and see through incremental changes & improvements in what we do
