Dixons Carphone are looking for an IT Project Manager with strong Agile and eCommerce experience to help successfully deliver the next generation of large-scale IT projects across the business. You will work on eCommerce site migrations, as well as a range of other IT projects, using agile and scrum methodologies. At Dixons Carphone, we are currently undergoing an exciting digital transformation across the Group and this is a challenging opportunity for someone who really knows Agile to become part of it. 


In this role you will: 

  • Take responsibility for the management of and successful execution of large, high-profile and ambiguous IT projects that span across multiple business units and areas totalling over £1m in cost.
  • Build and manage multiple project teams built from internal teams, third party organisations and specialist contractors.  Monitoring the deployment of individuals to ensure that they are contributing effectively from an outcome based perspective.
  • Provide very strong leadership to the project team and actively represent the IT project team.
  • Ensure a high standard of project governance.
  • Ensure strong working relationships across the Dixons Carphone Group business are built rapidly and sustained through the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that comprehensive project, quality, and risk plans are prepared and proactively managed. 
  • Manage and communicate project interdependencies clearly.
  • Ensure that realistic and accurate estimates of costs, timescales, quality and resource requirements are agreed and proactively manage any deviations through to project closure.
  • Contribute to the overall team dynamics, e.g. participates in effective knowledge transfer across the Project Manager community, provide coaching to more junior members of the team etc.


Required Skills: 

  • Expert knowledge of relevant project management methodologies, development life cycles etc. including first-hand experience of agile and scrum delivery methodologies.
  • First-hand experience of successfully leading Ecommerce site migrations and/or new site launches.
  • Expert knowledge of financial forecasting and budget management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creating concise PowerPoint slides for senior stakeholder distribution.
  • Good knowledge of programme and project organisation structures and the ability to build teams who are set up for success.
  • Good knowledge of resource and service management tools and techniques when working with multiple third parties.
  • Good knowledge of influencing techniques.
  • Experience of delivering Technology Projects in Retail/eCommerce industries.
