Head of Supply Chain & B2B Applications

To work with business teams to understand their needs and using your knowledge of both established and emerging technology in the market, help Supply Chain & B2B to address change through these technologies.

To manage the full lifecycle of Supply Chain & B2B Applications including maintenance, support, rationalisation & decommissioning whilst ensuring operational stability as well as cost effectiveness.

You will:

  • Interface heavily and build a strong rapport with key business leaders and partners, supporting the Dixons Carphone Supply Chain & B2B operational boards to deliver business aligned IS initiatives.
  • Establish, negotiate and manage successful relationships with both internal and external suppliers to deliver high quality, customer focused solutions.
  • To understand the culture and dynamics of the company and its strategy for the future, recognising the role and legacy of this part of the overall business
  • Remain up to date with the latest Supply Chain & B2B technologies, assessing their suitability and applicability for the Dixons Carphone business
  • Prioritise solution delivery with the business ensuring revenue streams are fully realised and risk minimised
  • Manage the full lifecycle applications within your remit
  • Ensure delivered solutions are fit for purpose working with development teams to provide a step change in productivity and performance.
  • Manage the Supply Chain & B2B IT Systems and Supply Chain & B2B IS teams in support of Dixons Carphone
  • Develop and implement the IS Strategy for Supply Chain & B2B in order to support Dixons Supply Chain & B2B strategic objectives.
  • Attend the Supply Chain & B2B Operating Boards as agreed with the Head of Applications as the Group IT representative and take responsibility for the overall management and performance of Supply Chain & B2B IT

You will need:

  • A proven ability to operate as a Senior Manager able to manage technical teams with excellent influencing skills at board level as well as network widely across the organisation
  • Experience in leading a business through a period of change with an understanding of technology and business transformation
  • The ability to demonstrate a proven track record of driving and defining complex IT strategy
  • Experience of budgeting and managing cost centres
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex IT concepts to non-technical colleagues
  • Experience of managing multiple IS disciplines i.e. software development, technical support, project delivery etc.
  • A broad understanding of computer systems, applications and operating systems.
  • In depth experience of negotiating with and managing third parties
  • Financially astute and profits / achievement driven with good planning and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail systems, including POS, time attendance etc
