We have an opportunity for a skilled Corporate PR professional to join our Corporate Affairs team as the Corporate Communications Manager. 


The business has embarked upon a major transformation and we need you to help bring our new strategy to life, driven by our vision to help everyone enjoy amazing technology. This role will help shape the external perception of Dixons Carphone and will be an integral advisor to all levels of the business on communications issues, driving proactive PR campaigns, alongside owning the company’s corporate social media communication strategy. 


As part of this role, you will be: 

  • Playing a key role within the Corporate Affairs team and taking the lead on several projects - you will have unique access to the business’s management team
  • Writing, distributing and editing press releases, selling stories into journalists, setting up, briefing and facilitating interviews with spokespeople, tracking media coverage and evaluating results
  • Producing briefing notes for the management team’s media interviews, industry speaking events and social media activity
  • Managing the corporate social media strategy, responsible for drafting and publishing social media content for proactive campaigns and reactive issues management
  • Playing a key role in the reporting of financial results and associated media events
  • Providing communications support to the Head of External Communications and Senior Manager, Corporate PR
  • Responsible for ensuring collaboration between Communications colleagues Group-wide
  • Building an excellent network of contacts across the business and externally with the media, analysts and other stakeholders to identify positive news stories, influencing within the business and outside
  • Working closely with our corporate PR, consumer PR and press cuttings agencies on a day-to-day basis, assisting in the management of issues and crises


You will need:

  • A strong grounding in social media and corporate communications, ideally in house but open to agency 
  • Ideally have experience of the retail industry or a consumer-facing and/or FTSE business 
  • A solid grounding in PR and social media concepts and practices
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, must be able to adapt to change and relish challenges
  • Be self-assured in your decision-making and be adept at providing counsel to the senior leadership team 
  • Effective organisational, time management skills to be able to prioritise and work towards deadlines
