As the Senior Commercial Strategy Manager, you’ll play a vital role in identifying game-changing developments in the communications market, assessing their impact on our business and commercial agreements, and creating and embedding action plans to maximise the commercial opportunities.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Strategy, you’ll need to make full use of industry experience, analytical and strategic thinking, influence and commercial acumen to engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify, understand and shape how the market, regulation and innovation is changing the world we trade in.


The role will be instrumental in ensuring Dixons Carphone has the necessary plans in place to capitalise on these changes and has solid defences in place to mitigate any remaining market risks. The role will need to develop strong EXCO engagement and buy-in to action plans and strategies


The role will also focus on understanding and modelling our partners’ economics and investor pressures in order to identify and shape commercial priorities and opportunities. The role will also be responsible for analysing commercial terms across all our network partners, identifying opportunities to optimise terms for our trading strategy (and vice-versa).

The purpose of the UK Connectivity Team is to manage the end to end relationships with UK cellular providers to maximise the profitability of commercial agreements.


The team is specifically accountable for the commercial agreements with UK networks and all network revenue which feeds into the P&L. The team should support the commercial proposition team to ensure Carphone Warehouse can deliver competitive propositions to market, whilst maximising the value of a customer. There is a wide integration with many areas of the business to achieve these aims, such as credit risk, retention, operations, finance and marketing. The team is also responsible to setting the connectivity strategy in the UK


You will need:

  • Industry/market experience and deep understanding of the Dixons Carphone business model and strategic advantages
  • To be curious about customers behaviour, constantly examining data & insights to know more
  • To be well connected and keen to make new relationships across the market
  • To Find creative ways to position commercial arguments in effective ways, influence outcomes and generate buy in to plans
  • Acumen to understand commercial/political interests across different groups, organisations and individuals
  • Strong numerical skills and finance understanding (capable of modelling the impact of changes to our business, our partners’ businesses, consumers and other interested parties in order to better understand their position)
  • To respond positively to change with the ability to manage and support others through change
