Senior Buyer - Dixons Travel

As the Senior Buyer for Audio we need you to be creative and grow this dynamic category! You will manage end to end product life cycles, travel to trade shows and work with innovative products. We are looking for you if you have a passion for this area. Working within our Dixons Travel Department means working in a tight knitted team. You will develop and implement the category plan to deliver the sales, margin and stock budgets.  Maximise margin delivery by managing suppliers efficiently and provide a range to meet customer needs. 


In audio you will be responsible for the biggest area in Dixons Travel and manage a budget and trading account that delivers circa £80m revenue annually. You will help deliver this by growing categories like true wireless headphones and smart sound which has seen a fast adoption rate in travel and the UK market as a whole. You will have full autonomy to create and deliver your own strategy which will be underpinned by the Managing Director’s vision & 3 year plan.


You will:
• Ensure that the category is always striving for a market leading range.
• Establish credible relationships with suppliers to ensure the best cost, best supply and best delivery for our customers.
• Be aware of the market place activity and innovations. Using this information to ensure that the category is performing.
• Working side by side with the merchandisers to ensure all metrics are hit across sales and stock.
• Contribute to wider projects in the team to support Dixons Travel overall strategy & expansion


You will need:
• Experience of Category Management with knowledge and experience of: Supplier negotiation, Supplier relationship management.
• Precise judgment and strong decision-making skills to enable the right actions for the category without assistance.
• Good commercial awareness and appreciation of customer and market needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting within senior forums
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel.
