Based in Acton this role is responsible for indentifying areas of operational change across all Dixons Carphone brands, responsible for directly managing projects from initiation to close using industry standard methodology, whilst ensuring all change is sustainable and of excellent quality, aligning with our company values

Delivering change withing the Retail Operations functional stream that results in driving sales, improving the customer experience, reducing costs and reducing store down time, and to ensure agreed budgets and timescales for projects are met and any risks and issues are communicated in a timely manner.

You will:

  • Work with your Sponsor/Steering Committee to develop a concise scope and ensure all activity for the life cycle of the project positively contributes.
  • Define the project’s deliverables and maintain quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop & manage robust project plans to support the implementation, maintaining and as required, reacting to necessary adjustments and alterations efficiently
  • Maintain all Project documentation & issue reports and updates to both Steering Committees and Project Teams in alignment with the Implementation lifecycle
  • Identify and manage dependencies external to the project and define routines to monitor these against the Project activity.
  • Support the creation and alignment of Business Cases to ensure there is always continued Business Justification for the project(s)
  • Monitor and control project costs through the correct approval process, whilst optimising opportunities to reduce spend prior to commencement
  • Where necessary acquire resource and coordinate the efforts of project team members and third-party contractors in order to deliver projects according to plan
  • Effectively communicate project expectations and deliverables to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations and milestones with team members and other stakeholders

You will need:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal & negotiation skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change to work within a multiple project environment
  • To be able to understand an issue, quantify the impact and drive a resolution
  • Numerate and analytical skills
  • Proven team leadership skills over a project/programme lifecycle
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Structured thinker with the ability to make assessments and act on own initiative.
  • To be able to influence & present to the senior level within the organisation
  • To be able to manage a portfolio of projects, delivered by many, to budget, on time in a supportive and collaborative way.
  • To understand the benefits and/or consequences of delivering change
  • Dixons Carphone retail experience (desireable)
  • Experience of delivering change across a large multi-site retailer
  • Experience of using Microsoft Project
  • Project Management certification (e.g. Prince 2, Lean Six Sigma, etc.)
