PMO Portfolio Delivery Lead – IT PMO

Reporting to the Head of PMO, Portolio Delivery Lead will manage the PMO activity across a Portfolio of the most critical and high value (could be in excess of £50mil) Projects with multiple interdependencies, to deliver on time, within budget and ensure the scope and benefits of the project are delivered.  This will include frequent Exco engagement and updates to the necessary Exco forums to detail progress.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consolidated reporting & dashboards to monitor project health and status, highlighting key delivery risks and issues. Expected to frequently require Exco level engagement.
  • Responsible for Programme communications, plan and activity
  • Input into the strategic planning of major programmes
  • Manage the RAID Management process with the Programme, ensuring quality RAIDs are logged, reviewed, mitigated, reported and escalated appropriately.
  • Facilitate and co-ordinate Stage Gate Reviews, ensuring stage gates are attended, managed and governed appropriately
  • Review and oversee the Programme plan, managing milestones, dependencies and change
  • Manage the change control process within the Programme, managing the upcoming changes, impacts and assessment against the consolidated plan, budget and scope
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across process, creating efficiencies and best practices
  • Oversee the Programmes budget and financial management. Support on any payment disputes with suppliers, ensuring suppliers are paid in a timely manner. Oversee Programme compliance on PO/Invoice Management and providing reviews and coaching where appropriate
  • Support the development of best practice Programme/Project management across IT through appropriate, coaching, training and development.


Skills & Experience: 

  • Strong senior stakeholder management (including Exco) experience with the ability to influence and advise at all levels within the business
  • Experience of a complex, fast-moving environment
  • Focus and drive to identify and implement solutions
  • Experience of resolving conflicts within project environments and across stakeholder groups
  • Maintain effective relationships with 3rd party suppliers
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
