Online Merchandiser

North Acton, London


The role is responsible for managing Merchandising of the Carphone Warehouse website, optimising all areas of the websites including Homepages and Category and product pages by using analytical tools and on site merchandising functionality. Implement marketing and category promotions online to ensure a multichannel experience. Analysing data daily to maximise the sales opportunity on the website. The role is also to support the Online Trading Managers in the respective areas. Increasing margin & increase in conversion rates through strong merchandising and attachment opportunities.


Management of online merchandising

Get the basic online merchandising and relevant marketing disciplines right first time across the websites, showing clear evidence of continuous progress being made on a weekly and period basis from all individuals who are involved with this process. Using on-site analytics maintain and make recommendations for product placements on the websites and feedback performance analysis if required. Ensure products are correctly displayed (including imagery, video content and product reviews) through the online channel. 

Monitor customers’ feedback in order to optimise customer journey and experience.


Drive increased sales and profit through the online channel

Work with the Online Trading team to assist in driving sales and margin increases Year on Year in terms of, product, services and solution sales across the websites.

Manage the availability of the online range including home delivery, and reserve & collect .

Analyse performance of commercial pages to ensure optimised customer journey.


Web Data Analysis & Reporting

Undertake analysis of the performance of products & categories, making recommendations & implementing changes

Optimisation of the Homepage and Category landing pages using analytical tools and onsite merchandising functionality

Daily analysis of the website data to identify fast and slow moving lines, merchandise accordingly to maximise sale opportunity.

Daily monitoring of internal searches, creating redirects to optimise customer journey. Identifying range opportunities by highlighting search terms that do not return results.  Increase visibility of products in demand. Analyse daily and weekly shifts. Identify key traffic sources for the daily spikes in search terms

Monitor and report on content improvements
