As our National Routing Centre Manager you’ll lead and manage all activities within our National Routing Centre. 

 

You’ll be someone who prides themselves on making sound decisions which balances customer needs with cost control, working seamlessly with stakeholders at all levels to deliver a market leading customer proposition. You’ll lead a team of 22 colleagues, overseeing their development and ensuring they have the systems, tools, understanding and engagement they need to deliver excellence for our customers.   With a passion for understanding changing customer needs, you’ll play a critical role delivering robust routing practices, constantly identifying opportunities and creating a culture which puts our customers first and helps our whole team win together.

 

 

As part of this role you'll be responsible for:


• Implementing cost effective and on-time delivery routing strategies for over 4 million customer deliveries and installations across the UK and Ireland
• Delivering and meaningfully contributing to our overall business strategy and market leading proposition.
• Planning and implementing vehicle scheduling, routing strategies, and communication across functions to optimise the utilisation of company assets, conducting continuous analysis to identify consolidations or improvements
• Ensuring the preparation of daily, weekly and financial period performance reporting KPI’s are submitted on time in addition to daily and weekly management information
• Establishing strong working relationships and alignment across all key stakeholder groups and associated business areas to drive continual process improvement projects that deliver financial, engagement or customer benefits
• Driving results directly and indirectly through team engagement and enablement, championing teamwork and building strong cross-functional relationships

 

You’ll need:

 

• Strong Logistics Management experience and knowledge of delivery in a routing/planning function or similar
• Excellent working knowledge of transport routing & scheduling software, such as Open Fleet/Paragon
• Experience of leading large teams, working under pressure in a fast-moving environment, creating an engaged team with a we win together culture
• Experience of cost control, working within budgets and delivery of KPI/SLA’s
• Demonstrable success in delivering measurable improvements in customer, efficiencies and/or costs improvements through strong analytics and implementation of process/system changes
• Excellent analytics skills and use of Excel & Core Microsoft Applications
• Experience of financial budgeting & P/L, with experience of producing operational budgets (desirable)
