This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified Accountant to join a company that’s embarking upon a significant transformation. This role is pivotal in driving effective working capital management and capital investment within the Dixons Carphone Group. This role will operate cross functionally to deliver first class management reporting and forecasting for the business. 


As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:  

  • Producing the management reporting of working capital and capex across Dixons Carphone- ensuring all variances to plan are understood and clearly explained
  • Coordinating the post investment reviews of major capital investments and summarising key learnings for ExCo including: challenging the business to ensure that completed capital projects have performed as expected with regard to costs, benefits and scope and ensuring the decision makers (ExCo) have visibility of the results of previous CAPEX requests
  • Owning the preparation of 5-year plans/ budgets/ STFs/ monthly outlooks for balance sheets, cash flows and key metrics
  • Budgeting and reforecasting the annual capital programme and ensuring the business maintains appropriate benefits expectations
  • Identifying risk & opportunities to cash flow targets and help managing action plans as appropriate
  • Owning the weekly cash forecasts for Dixons Carphone and making recommendations to maximise cash management
  • Calculating Return on Capital Employed, working capital ratios and other key metrics to help monitor and explain business performance
  • Supporting the TMO with the financial elements of benefits tracking for the major transformation projects


You will need:

  • A strong academic background (to Degree level) 
  • A recognised Accounting Qualification (ACA/ ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)- this role would suit a recently qualified accountant 
  • Experience within a consumer/ retail setting is highly desirable 
  • Solid stakeholder management skills with an ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – able to explain complex issues in a clear and transparent manner 
  • Strong Excel skills
