Finance Analyst - FP&A

We are looking for an ambitious finance individual to join our FP& A team as a Finance Analyst for our Services area.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified Accountant and the jobholder will own the financial processes for Dixons Carphone Supply Chain, who are responsible for all aspects of our delivery and install operations across all our brands.

 

The jobholder will deliver analysis and insight to aid in effective management of the logistics and warehousing operations. This includes understanding the key drivers of the cost base and feeding this back into decision making process both within supply chain and across the wider business.

 

You will:

  • Design and produce management accounts consistent with the full UK P&L to ensure this complex area is fully understood and to enable control of the services cost base
  • Support the Business partners to deliver quarterly financial business reviews in a defined format
  • Develop models and analysis that can be used to help better understand our results, aid in planning and provide “what if” analysis
  • Produce and automate weekly financial reports
  • Provide first line commentary and business insight through analytics
  • Lead the team to deliver high quality support and challenge to existing ways of working and reporting
  • Work with Business Intelligence (BI) to automate reporting as appropriate and draw through advancements from this space into the wider finance function
  • Budgeting and Forecasting – support the Financial Planning CoE to ensure forecasts are at the appropriate level of detail (by line and activity) to enable management reporting and effective decision making
  • Decision Support & Analysis – Support the tracking of initiatives and associated enabler
  • Work with Accounting & Control to ensure accounting changes and best practice is followed to ensure the integrity of management reporting
  • Continually identify new opportunities to drive reporting efficiency by the leveraging systems and standard processes
  • Work closely with other Finance teams and BI to optimise reporting to ensure no duplication exists

 

You will need:

  • A strong academic background (to Degree level)
  • A recognised Accounting Qualification (ACA/ ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)- this role would suit a recently qualified accountant
  • Experience within a telecoms or consumer setting is highly desirable
  • Solid stakeholder management skills with an ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders 
  • Written and Verbal Communication Skills – able to tell a complex story in a compelling manner via all means of communication 
  • Problem Solving – able to analyse and understand complex data and situations to recommend the optimal solution
