The Commercial Marketing Manager for Planning is responsible for developing and managing the quarterly marketing plans for Carphone Warehouse.  Working closely with the Commercial and marketing teams to develop innovative marketing plans and manage the process to deliver them.

 This role requires an organised and efficient team player who can lead our marketing planning for Carphone Warehouse, ensuring that we put the customer at the heart of our decisions and activity whilst effectively balance the commercial targets of the business (volume, share, and CGM) with customer demands and NPS improvements by defining activity that supports the Carphone Warehouse strategy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing Quarterly marketing plans that turn insight in to compelling customer propositions for Carphone Warehouse to attract customers and drive sales, margin (CGM) and volume to exceed our business and share targets
  • Clearly prioritise activity that delivers the most business benefit and is aligned throughout the Carphone Warehouse business.
  • Manage the quarterly planning process for Carphone Warehouse ensuring that we deliver and sign off activity on time and aligned to the priorities and execute right first time
  • Own and develop the Quarterly planning process including documentation, improvements and communication with Carphone Warehouse
  • Work with and across all marketing functional areas (brand, advertising, digital, creative services, CRM, social, content, PR, etc.) in the development of differentiated activity and standout campaigns that differentiate Carphone Warehouse and highlight our key points of difference and ‘reasons why to shop with us’ in a compelling and disruptive
  • Work seamlessly with the rest of the marketing team (especially the retail marketing team) to manage the changeover cycle and deliver effective in store promotions and campaigns.

Experience & skills required:

  • Category marketing experience, ideally gained working within a fast paced retail or broadband/ mobile / electronics brand
  • Experience in developing commercially successful events and campaigns
  • A broad range of Marketing knowledge and evidence of operational delivery of customer focused activity and campaigns
  • Project management skills
  • Strong influencing & Stakeholder management skills
  • Strong numerical & analytical skills
