Positioned within the commercial team, you will be right in the centre of a fast paced team, working hand in hand with the buying team, building strong relationships with our biggest suppliers and working closely with all other functions across the Dixons Carphone business to build, plan and execute the customer and commercial strategy and develop our business for future growth.


We are market leader in the Computing hardware area, which includes Windows (laptops/desktops), Chrome & Apple operating systems and also our Android tablet business. There remains a huge opportunity for us to continue to grow in a market which is buoyant through consumer demand, and we are increasingly looking to innovate and differentiate our range and proposition across the area coupled with a thorough understanding of our customers’ needs. 


We work closely with the biggest global brands, including Microsoft, Apple, Google and Intel as well as key brands such as HP, Lenovo Dell among others, and the successful applicant will be able to deliver key projects, objectives and propositions which align closely to brand, customer and category objectives


Sitting within the commercial category, this is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a great team supporting three key focus areas:

  1. Be the go-to person for key supplier marketing relationships, working collaboratively to bring marketing plans to life across all channels both above the line and also own channel executions
  2. Be the champion for delivering a great customer experience & shopping journey in all channels, driving improvements as well as bringing appropriate insight and analytics to help support and deliver key category & customer propositions
  3. Shape the category strategy & key priorities, working to develop and deliver the right propositions, whilst integrating the product roadmap from key partners to ensure we bring new technologies to market in the right way for both brand and customer


As part of this role, you’ll, be responsible for:


  • Creating the blueprint for the annual category strategy, helping define the guiderails for: target KPIs (CSAT, share, EBIT, stock), customer shopping journey, category proposition and the ‘go to market’ plan
  • Supporting the squad in landing all major initiatives, including major new product launches, new merchandising solutions and changes to the customer journey
  • Working with the central planning and brand & marketing function to develop in line with the annual events calendar the ‘Go to market’ strategy
  • Bringing appropriate analytics and insight from the online and customer team to support decision making related to day to day trading, events and promotions and range changes
