Promotions Analyst

We are looking for a talented promotions analyst to join the team. This person will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction within the pricing and promotional strategy of the business. They will also support the development of the Dixons Carphone promotional program through identifying, analysing and implementing initiatives in partnership with our Go To Market and Communications teams.

The role will work closely with the Commercial and Marketing functions across both, Currys PCWorld and Carphone Warehouse as well as various third party providers of analytical tools and data services.

You will be:

  • Reviewing and analysing the present processes for creating, sharing and implementing the promotional plans
  • Identifying information gaps within the process and in partnership with the business users, develop a toolkit to support and improve these processes
  • Generating commercial insights, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership.
  • Collating and analyse complex business and commercial information from internal and external sources,
  • Contributing to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives and drive projects to completion and contribute to work of high quality.
  • Developing a close working relationship with the Business and understand, interpret and document business processes.
  • Identifying risks and issues with new promotional campaigns (e.g. prior versions of this role have supported agreeing underwriting costs on ‘Win your purchase for free’ promotions)
  • Undertaking analysis and process definition using structured techniques and diagramming
  • Assessing feasibility and scope of requirements and conducting cost/benefit analysis
  • Supporting and on training users on new tools and techniques developed

You will need:

  • Ability to find and analyse all sources of data available
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and deliver insightful and practical solutions
  • Ability to communicate those insights in a clear, concise manner both verbal and in writing
  • Exquisite attention to detail to ensure zero defect in analysis
  • Self-starter with initiative, drive and tenacity
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple resources to a tight project deadline
  • Strong academic record. Ideally a bachelors degree or equivalent, preferably in Science or similarly numerate subject
  • Advanced expertise in office tools, specially Excel and Access
