DESCRIPTION

To provide analytical support for the Category Development team (and the broader Commercial Category teams) through action orientated insights and data – primarily focused around:

  • Reporting
  • Trading Analysis
  • Cross-Category Improvements

 

You will:

  • Produce weekly/daily reporting for Category teams
  • Produce pre-order, launch and peak period performance summaries and reporting packs.
  • Keep an in-depth log on all activities: promotional, trading investment, network changes, external impacts (market, weather) by week for all Categories. This piece of work will allow the Trading Manager to understand the nuances behind volume and CGMpu by week for all categories when carrying out Budget / STF / Forecasting projects.
  • Lead on CGMpu optimisation (impacts, drivers, missing margin) with clear communication to the wider team, working alongside Connectivity and Finance leads to resolve issues regarding tariff commissions, AVCO, stock and pre-orders.
  • Support your line manager to build and deliver the CPW cross-category reporting tools– for daily, weekly, quarterly and yearly needs. The category teams will be accountable, with your support (data, insight & recommendations), for managing their performance their customers (e.g. postpay returning base) but you will take a holistic view to trading performance looking at profitability, risks and opportunities to trading activities being carried out.

 

You will need:

  • To be able to concisely communicate conclusions and recommendations and translate complex data/analysis into meaningful insights for the audience
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint#
  • (deally), experience of using Business Objects or other reporting solutions
  • To be educated to degree level – ideally with a business/statistics qualification
