Commercial Analyst 


The Commercial Analyst role will work within The UK Connectivity Team, which sits at the heart of the Carphone commercial group. We own the relationships with our partners, the UK mobile networks. 


We’re looking for someone who is keen to progress and develop in an analytical and commercial role, which will allow them to gain a detailed understanding of how our network relationships work, the underlying commercials, and how we provide additional value to support the trading strategy of the business.

You Will:


  • Analyse and model changes in our commercial terms
  • Analyse performance against contractual targets, presenting back to internal stakeholders, providing a greater understanding of the risks and opportunities
  • Work with network account and finance teams to understand and resolve any challenges with upcoming changes, managing inter-department relationships
  • Support growth areas in PAYM – principally iD and Virgin
  • Research environmental factors within the mobile market – growth of 24mth+ contracts, trends and provide analysis on opportunities
  • Process information from networks to create the tariffs and commissions within the Strategic Pricebook
  • Work with account managers and trading teams to deliver tariff refreshes and promotional activity
  • Provide routine monthly and quarterly update of network investment
  • Identify opportunities to improve the process through review of missing commissions reports, workings files, and build relationships with our network finance team


You will Need:


  • Intermediate MS Excel skills, particularly being familiar with lookups, pivot tables and charts
  • Sharp attention to detail required to spot potential outliers, duplicates and errors
  • A quick learner who can pick up the basics of the Business Objects database to provide routine and ad-hoc MI
  • Analytical ability to identify trends and share these with stakeholders using a variety of media – this will be a combination of written, graphic and verbal
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competent mathematically, able to understand intermediate formulas and logic
  • A desire to learn and develop both in terms of technical ability and business acumen
  • Positive, collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to use initiative with core analytical skills to support ideas and opinions on business trends
  • Organised and planned approach to multiple workstreams
