Business Readiness Lead (Transformation)

As the Business Readiness Lead within our Transformation Function, you’ll take overall responsibility for Business Readiness across a collection of programmes or within specific functions/business areas. The Transformation Function (including Business Change, Business Readiness, Transformation Office, Business Analysis) sits at the heart of delivering our vision and strategy. Working across the business we ensure the overall plan is articulated (benefits; technical specifications & plans), sequenced and delivered - providing vital expertise; challenge and expertise to move our plans from concept to practical delivery.


Business Readiness Lead – Key Activities:

  • Partner with business unit (inc. leadership) to identify, assess and manage delivery of change for specific business area
  • Understand and define the scale of change, by taking a ‘vertical view’ across the scope of all workstreams at key transition states and assure the level of readiness of the organisation to cope with the impact on people, process and technology 
  • Working with HR to provide the interface for training around all incoming change 
  • Partnering with the internal comms team to create and lead a single Change Story and communication plan to ensure the business sees and understands the overall story for change 
  • Act in partnership with the Business Unit to enable cultural change from within as & when the change roadmap requires it
  • Play a key role in the definition of the Business Readiness toolkit and its application across the business and within specific projects
  • Engage sponsors to gain buy-in to Business Readiness activities by providing pro-active and transparent Stakeholder Management both within the project and across the wider business


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of performing a similar role (Business Readiness/Change) within a major FTSE 250 organisation (or similar) or top tier professional services (consulting) firm.
  • Strong experience delivering end-to-end business change, including Change Impact Plans, Comms and Training. 
  • The ability to communicate change effectively across the whole business, communicating organisational strategic goals explaining rationale and role modelling a range of influencing styles to interact with all business functions
  • A key focus for achieving results, interpreting strategic objectives and making tough decisions to deliver the right change to provide a clear framework for delivery
  • A high level of business acumen, commercially viewing the organisation at an enterprise level to understand opportunities and threats across the external market and the interdependencies of functions to maximise opportunity.
  • A strong customer focus reinforcing the customer first, understanding future markets, customer behaviours and requirements to influence strategy
