Dixons Carphone are looking for an IT Business Partner to manage the relationship between the business and IT and ensure that IT delivers outstanding value. IT Transformation is key to the wider Dixons Carphone transformation plan, and this IT Business Partner will be critical in supporting the organisational change alongside IT. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the expectations of the relevant business area, facilitating its thinking and ensuring that strategic requirements are realistic and aligned with the future direction and supporting the prioritisation of projects and business needs, understanding constraints within IT and the business
  • Create the long term IT demand roadmap and ensure alignment to the business demand roadmap and links to the technology roadmap – with a prioritised view
  • Support Architecture, providing input into high level requirements and solution shaping
  • Support the costing, estimating and options analysis for new IT requirements and contribute to the Business Case
  • Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders and Business Change to ensure that IT is involved in the early conversations with the business in confirming the requirement and shaping the solution
  • Manage the relationship with the business (aligned to business area) for IT solutions including managing the expectations and demand for IT services
  • Manage the relationship with the business (aligned to business area) for the quality of services provided, reporting back to the business regularly on the performance of IT against the corresponding metrics.  Also act as an escalation point for service issues.
  • Support the review of resources required for programmes/projects and ensure that resources are allocated sensibly across all projects to ensure delivery
  • Identify and support the management of IT risks involved in running the relevant business area


Skills & Experience:

  • It is important that the person in role has experience of performing a similar role within a major FTSE 250 organisation or comparable organisation or has experience of delivering the requirements of this role across multiple clients as a member of a top tier professional services (consulting) firm.
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively with peer level managers and Senior Executives in a dynamic and maturing business context. No nonsense, pragmatic problem solver.
  • Leadership ability to attract and lead a diverse set of resources – experience of building strong relationships between business departments, focussing on continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional communication skills working with Senior Execs to junior IT staff members
  • Strong ability to work through ambiguity bringing teams of people with them
  • Significant industry expertise and thought leadership in this domain
  • An approach which enforces and gets the right outcomes whilst taking people with them - understand what they need to do and why.
