Dixons Carphone are looking to hire a BI Support Analyst to act as 'hands-on' technical application support, alongside team colleagues and service partners, and help ensure delivery to the business of BI data and output to an agreed service level. You will provide resolutions and answers to issues and adhoc queries amongst business users of BI output. 

The position will be based in our West London Head Office (North Acton) with a free gym onsite. We can also offer flexible working, on top of a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Awareness of the state of daily schedules producing the BI output.
  • Follow up delays and process failures, where possible apply fixes, otherwise raise with appropriate support teams.
  • Provide timely written communications with simple, concise summaries and updates of specific problems, dealing with user issues by phone and email. Escalating issues as required with the BI team and BI customers.
  • Share 1st and 2nd line Support in a rota for a number of key applications.
  • Triage incidents and issues through the business intelligence support phone number or email address – liaising with 2nd / 3rd line support and end users, providing regular updates to customers on the status of issues.
  • Undertake limited development in response to enhancement requests to existing reports, working with business users.
  • Work with Support colleagues in multiple international locations to provide timely information and updates in the event of upstream processing issues impacting on BI customers.
  • Some out of hours working (in a rota) is a requirement of the role – ensuring that SLA’s are met and exceeded. Vigilance is essential at all Peak Trading times (whenever these occur) and Support rotation will include some monitoring and support during Bank Holidays.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience of a pressurised support environment – delivering key output to multiple business customers – at all levels of seniority.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and a customer service sensibility.
  • Experience of maintaining and fixing applications and code to ensure appropriate support and service level standards are met and exceeded.
  • Excellent SQL skills in a development or support environment.
  • Experienced user: SQL, VBA, macros running in (or using) Excel, pivot tables.
  • Desirable: In a development or support role - Microsoft Tools Power Designer, SSDT, Visual Studio, SSMS, Power BI, SSAS , Access, SSIS; Oracle SQL server, MDX; Teradata and SAP Business Objects.
  • Experience of supporting web pages (Dreamweaver, ASP and Java; some C++).
  • An appreciation of the principles of ETL integration and use of Data Warehouse
