DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Category Manager for Sim Free is responsible for the commercial performance of the category through the delivery of market leading ranging, pricing, product and people development. You will report into the Senior Category Manager and help them drive volume and profit targets across SIM Free within Carphone Warehouse and Dixons.

 

As a key member of the commercial team you will work across multiple functions – Proposition development, Commercial Marketing, Buying, Strategic Planning, Analytics, Retail and Online
You will be expected to present details on the performance of your category your line manager to ensure strong understanding of how the category targets are achieved

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for: 
•    Working with the Senior Category Manager to produce a quarterly trading plan for the category as part of the business planning process
•    Liaising with Buying to drive decisions around ranging 
•    Liaising with Proposition Development team to drive more relevant propositions for the channel 
•    Working with the relevant channel trading teams to drive a joined-up category plan and strategy across all channels
•    Briefing the weekly nominations preparation process and briefing Marketing in the nominations meeting
•    Attending and contributing to sales forecasting meetings for stock intake, availability management
•    Monitoring Category performance 

 

You will need
•    Experience in the telecomms industry
•    Product or channel marketing process experience
•    Ambitious self-starter with proven track record in delivering strong commercial results 
•    Strong negotiation and influencing skills 
•    Strong range creation / management skills 
•    Strong communication and relationship management skills with internal and external Stakeholders 
•    Expert analytical and numerical skills 
•    Commercial acumen and financial awareness
