We’re looking or an established Assistant Buyer that will support the Refrigeration category manager to bring the most compelling range and great value products to our customers. We work with global brands including Samsung, LG, Bosch and Whirlpool to bring the latest technology to our customers alongside a large own brand range with the opportunity to source, design and develop new products and propositions to present to the UK consumer.


As leaders and innovators we are determined to better educate consumers and with the fridge at the heart of the home we are well placed to do this better than anyone else.  The average home in the UK throws away over £700 of food each year – helping educate customers on latest technologies that improve food preservation can hugely help reduce food waste! The role will involve supporting the category manager in delivering the budget plan and strategy, demonstrating creativity and a strong understanding of our colleagues and customers to deliver a compelling offer. This market continues to change shape at pace, so the role will offer the candidate an opportunity to demonstrate speed of thought and dynamism in addressing the ever-moving needs of our customers.


You Will:
• Compile weekly trading decks, manage CRM activity and briefs. Provide daily trading updates and recommend actions to ensure we hit budget.
• Work with the category manager to source, setup and market new products and ranges.
• Provide support to the Category Manager to analyse market share and competitor information.
• Build good supplier relationships by being a key contact for day to day supplier related issues to support the Category Manager.
• Manage weekly and ad hoc reporting duties on Business objects (training provided)
• Provide support to the Category Manager to compile and update category promotional plans and marketing collateral. Work with the Category Manager and Brands to identify products and promotional messages for TV ads.


You will need:
• Experience working within a FMCG/Fashion or Hard Goods fast paced retailer.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• A background in Buying, Merchandising or Category Management at a junior level
• Previous experience of stakeholder management
• Exposure to managing supplier relationships
