Charities And Community Work

Great work is happening in our communities every day, and we want to support that as much as we can, standing together to shape a better world for us and for future generations.

With stores in almost every town across the country, we understand the importance of a strong community spirit. That’s why, whenever a colleague fundraises for a charitable cause, Dixons Carphone will make a donation too. We love our tech, and our charity partners are using technological advances to transform the world in extraordinary ways. Explore the links below to find out more about the work we do.

Dixons Carphone has a long-term partnership with Get Connected. This registered charity provides the UK’s only free, confidential helpline for under-25s. It’s accessible by phone, email, web-chat or text, and you can find it at

We recently raised £323,000 for Get Connected, through team and individual fundraising. Together, we ran the Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones, hosted a Dixons Carphone Charity Dinner and Auction, and signed up to the Give as You Earn scheme.

In the last year, the charity helped 250,000 children and young people; an increase of 100,000 from the previous year.

We’re always exploring new ideas, and learning about the innovative work that might shape the future. We recognise that it’s the next generation’s job to keep that spark going, so that’s why supporting young people’s education is a big part of what we do. We think technology in schools can inspire life-long learning, helping us all to embrace the unknown and accomplish new goals.

So, with that in mind, we work with Techknowledge for Schools. They’re the registered charity behind the largest independent research programme on technology in education, and in 2014, we donated £210,000 to further their work in transforming education in the UK.

The success of our business relies on understanding what each and every customer wants. Every day, we make life better for millions of customers, by understanding their needs and delivering the right technological solutions.

Our corporate responsibility within the Dixons Carphone Foundation is to understand how technology can address social issues, and to use that knowledge to make a positive difference, particularly for the next generation.

Our customers always come first and we care about keeping them safe. We know that mobile web access comes with certain risks, especially for young people. That’s why we produced the Guide to Mobile Web Safety, to support parents planning to buy their child a smartphone. The guide raises awareness of the potential dangers and makes parents better equipped to help their children explore new technology with confidence.

We want to protect our customers in every way we can. One of the ways we do that is by supporting the Immobilise initiative. The initiative aims to prevent and deter mobile theft, and is supported by all major UK police forces, as well as the majority of the mobile phone industry.

Protecting The Environment

We’re always looking to the future and to how we can give back to the communities who support us. A big part of that is about protecting our environment for future generations. So, from installing more efficient LED lighting in our UK locations, to introducing hydropower and wind turbine energy in our Nordic stores, we’re constantly committed to protecting the planet. 75% of our store waste materials now go to recycling schemes, and we’re one of the UK’s biggest recyclers of expanded polystyrene.


We believe our team should be genuinely happy in their roles and we know that in our fast-paced company, an energetic, healthy and safe workplace is vital to making that happen. So, across all our brands, branches, and offices, we do our best to promote healthy living. Whether it’s through our on-site gyms and relaxation rooms, or through fitness initiatives like Average to Awesome, we want to encourage you to love what you do.

Timewise - Hire Me My Way

Dixons Carphone is one of the first employers to openly commit to ‘flexible hiring’ – helping to grow the jobs market for part-time and flexible jobs. We’re backing the launch of a transformative new campaign called 'Hire Me My Way'.

We want candidates to feel confident they can communicate the flexibility they need from their next role. Candidates may wish to talk to us about shift patterns, part time or flexible working and we’ll explore what’s possible in each case. In many instances this suits us as an employer, as we plan schedules and staffing levels to ensure we give great customer service to match the seasonal and weekly flows of customer shopping needs both in our stores and online. We’re also happy to explore flexible and part time options for head office roles.
